Ever wondered what the secrets are behind Hollywood royalty Salma Hayek's flawless skin? The 50-year-old actress has revealed her hero beauty buys and favoured regime which is refreshingly minimal.
For Hayek it's all about making the most of natural ingredients while being sure to not over-do anything in her routine.
In an interview with the New York Times she mentioned that "I never cleanse my skin in the morning." A trick she learnt from her grandmother who said that "at night your skin replenishes all the things you lost during the day."
In a morning she'll rely on a spritz of rose water to "wake the skin up" before applying a moisturiser. Then in an evening the actress removes make-up with coconut oil, before using "rose water to take off the residuals."
Day-to-day, Hayek keeps make-up minimal wearing only "a little foundation and a little lipstick on my cheeks".
However, when it comes to red carpet events she is known for being a bit more adventurous and is a fan of "the lip colours and textures of the Clinique Pop line." And for those wanting a full coverage concealer endorsed by the red-carpet regular look no further than Cinema Secrets. The mother-of-one reveals that it's "great for events" but that "you don't want to wear it every day because it's too much coverage."
Except for her brilliant take on the millennial pink hair trend, Hayek normally sticks to "my natural colour, and my natural white hairs." Admitting that she just doesn't "have the patience to sit through it."
Behind-the-scenes, Hayek admits that "my hair is curly and wild when I'm not working." Using a hair oil to tame frizz, however if it's "really embarrassingly crazy, I put it in a ponytail."
