When one of Gwyneth Paltrow's favourite skincare brands launches a spa retreat—on a luxury island no less—one can't help but resist the urge to book a flight. Organic spa and skincare label ILA has created a six-day retreat on Mustique, a private island known for its luxurious villas, exclusive clientele and breathtaking views. Launching in November (perhaps as the perfect antidote to fashion month?), the retreat is inspired by the four elements—earth, wind, water and fire—and merges two of the fashion crowd's favourite things: A customised wellness program designed to energise and detox the body with activities such as yoga, sound healing, tailored ILA spa treatments, mediation tuition, Nordic walking and paddle boarding, and ultra-luxurious surroundings including some of the most exclusive private villas in the world and the iconic Cotton House—a West-Indian inspired plantation house that was converted from a warehouse to a hotel and boasts a Michelan-star restaurant (the retreat includes a tailor-made menu of organic raw and vegan foods).
At a time when concern for health, eating clean, juicing and exercising is at an all-time high (particularly for New Yorkers), a weeks vacation before the next polar vortex hits seems like a great idea. Check your calendar now.
The six-day ila retreat starts at Dhs26,500 per person and includes all retreat actitives, treatments, cuisine, accommodation, and return air fares. Ila-spa.com
