Based across the UAE, the project is to be launched after the two parties signed an agreement during Art Dubai 2017. Calls are now open for regional artists to submit artworks to The Cultural Office, with the winning submission being showcased as a unique installation at Art Dubai 2018.

The theme of the art installation is the "Sunny Side of Life" and draws on the regional perk of living under the sun and invites participants to live life to the fullest. As Piaget CEO Chabi Nouri says, “with its endless sun and its boundless energy, Dubai is definitively a place where the sky is the limit, where everything and anything becomes possible.”
Piaget came to Dubai during the 1960s as one of the first watchmaker-jewellers to enter the region. In 2017 it partnered with Art Dubai for the second consecutive year and showcased its latest high jewellery and fine watchmaking Sunny Side of Life collection.

The line draws on the dreamy location of Palm Springs with its host of summer parties, and was unveiled by brand ambassador Jessica Chastain. Composed of 150 pieces, the jewels and timepieces of the Sunny Side of Life collection feature a rich gemstone palette including Paraiba tourmalines, pink sapphires, emeralds and opals. Combined with the craftsmanship of the high jewellery Maison, the collection offers warm feel-good vibes for the upcoming summer season.

The Cultural Office was established in 2013 as a platform for art initiatives that contribute to the UAE’s growing reputation as a global hub for culture and creativity. The Sunny Side of Life project demonstrates both organisations’ continued commitment towards nurturing the UAE’s flourishing arts scene and providing emerging artists with opportunities to showcase their work on key international platforms.
