A brand that marries precious jewellery with a mission to find inner peace, Shamballa Jewels is dedicated to striking a balance between Eastern symbolism and Western luxury. Mads Kornerup, co-founder of the brand, created the iconic Shamballa Bracelets incorporating sophisticated gems with durable nylon thread.
In a special shoot in Harper’s Bazaar Interiors Autumn issue, Mads’ bohemian abode in Copenhagen was shot for a feature on the interior design of the homes of Nordic jewellery designers. “Design should have a purpose and a story to tell – of wisdom and compassion,” said Mads. “Most of my design work takes place at home in the night when I can translate the day’s inspirations into jewellery.”
Like his jewels, the designer’s home incorporates a mix of contemporary furniture with the vibrant hues and textures of the Far East. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our shoot with photographer Kate Lewis and producer/stylist Robert Meeder.
