Welcoming a number of new designs in the Middle East, including its relaunched Masters chair in metallic colours, Patricia Urquiola’s Jellies tableware range, and the iconic Battery lampshade, Kartell debuted a series of new collections at Downtown Design in October, and its continued development of creating tech-savvy furniture and growth in the region is certainly exciting to see.

Our pick of the bunch? Living up to Kartell’s legacy of contemporary innovation, the Battery lamp can now be fully recharged as you would your mobile phone. A simple USB docking station charges the LED lamp with eight hours of light, making it perfect for outdoor use. When lit, the prismatic shade casts an eye-catching kaleidoscope pattern of light, undoubtedly a showstopper for any location and occasion. Available in metallic chrome and gold, or transparent colours such as crystal, amber and smoked grey, the Battery is a future icon in the making.
