Digital art and its impact on artistic expression will form the cornerstone of this year’s EMERGEAST auction, which takes place at Manzil Downtown on April 27.
The auction, entitled Shifting Forward, will highlight the increased use of digital tools such as video art installations and computerised creations as a means of artistic production in an ultra-modern world.
Highlights of the sale include works by Roxana Manouchehri and Sassan Behnam Bakhtiar – two notable artists whose work has been gaining international recognition of late.
Dima Abdul Kader and Nikki Meftah, cofounders of EMERGEAST, are hoping that this year’s auction will provide a platform for young collectors in the Middle East to acquire art from a selection of emerging artists.
“The selection of artworks aims to reflect the current themes and subject matter expressed by emerging Middle Eastern artists,” says Dima. “Through our auctions we are opening up the gateway for young collectors in the Middle East to discover new artists online.”
Auction III: Shifting Forward will begin with an opening reception and preview of the lots at 7:00 pm followed by the auction at 8:00pm. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
