Four Beauty Products That Will Change The Way You Fly

We all know the anticipation and excitement that an impending holiday brings with it. And with Eid Al Adha having just been announced as taking place from September 11-13, we have a five-day weekend ahead of us, just begging us to get on a plane for a quick getaway.

Despite the exciting adventures that await, packing, wrapping up work and putting your out-of-office on can all get pretty stressful, pretty quickly, and that's before the realisation that your flight is about to unleash havoc on your unsuspecting skin sets in. Dull, lifeless, and seriously dehydrated are just some of the words we could use (and have used!) to describe our skin after any amount of time spent on a plane.

So whether you're jetting off to Europe or planning a luxury escape beachside, the key to landing with Insta-ready skin is simple: make sure you drink plenty of water, and that you pack these four Bazaar-approved beauty products in your carry-on.

The Cleanser

Celebrities and beauty aficionados have been singing the praises of micellar water for years, making it a carry-on must-have. The gentle formula helps to wipe away any impurities without leaving your skin parched. Bioderma Sensibio H2O (Dhs35 for 100ml at is a beauty cupboard favourite at Bazaar - those Parisians were definitely on to something with this one. Just remember that it needs to be under 100ml.

The Hydrator

Air con is the biggest culprit when it comes to dehydrated skin. To combat, apply a rich cream whilst you fly to keep your skin supple and thoroughly hydrated. If you've got a few hours to kill (if you're heading Stateside or to the Southern Hemisphere, then this is you) treat your face to a hydrating recovery mask – the perfect antidote to on board air con. Our editors love Eve Lom Moisture Mask (Dhs318) to brighten and replenish – and its leave-on formula makes it ideal for travel.

The Refresher

A facial spritz is the perfect in-flight pick-me-up. It'll aid hydration as well as keep your face looking fresh, plus it can revive old make-up. Need we say more? Caudalie Beauty Elixir (Dhs122 for 100ml at Net-A-Porter) is the go-to for any well-travelled beauty gurus, and has earned a cult following amongst A-listers too.

The Relaxer

If you're going to be sat down for hours, you might as well get some beauty sleep. To help you unwind and relax, try a sleep spray or balm and a silk eye mask. Scents of lavender and chamomile are the perfect notes for sleep and will help you unwind with ease. This Works Sleep Balm (Dhs59) is the perfect travel-sized pot as it's discreet and smells divine when applied to your pulse points. Sweet dreams (and safe travels)!
