When shopping for make-up online, we all want maximum visuals before we decide to splurge. In a bid to help consumers choose the right beauty products based on their skin type and colour preference, Saudi beauty e-commerce site Golden Scent has introduced their Virtual Try-On feature, which enables shoppers to try different make-up without having to physically do so.
The new shopping experience marks not only the online fashion retailer, but the entire region’s first augmented reality (AR) experience and aims to offer customers a new way of viewing its products in real life.
Golden Scent's Virtual Try-On
"We are thrilled to introduce the Virtual Try-On feature within our Golden Scent app,” says Malik Al Shehab, Founder and CEO of Golden Scent. “We are confident that the beauty customer will enjoy, engage and appreciate a more immersive experience.”
Not only has the feature increased sales, according to the brand, but it also wins big in the sustainability department. The new feature will help reduce plastic and cardboard waste from packaging of unwanted and returned items. It will also help cut down carbon emissions from unnecessary journeys taken by drivers who deliver products that are subsequently returned.
