Our round-up of the biggest trends to start replicating now

The spring/summer 2017 catwalks incorporated some much-loved 2016 beauty trends - from barely-there make-up, strong dark lips and the inclusion of hair accessories - but gave them a little twist for the new season.

See below for all the key trends to put you one step ahead...

Hair Textures

2017 is the year to experiment with different hair cuts and textures. Loewe, Altuzarra, Givenchy and Balmain all favoured slick, wet-look hair with not a single flyaway in sight, while Cornejo, Julien MacDonald and Topshop Unique all embraced natural kinks, waves and flyaway hairs. Fringes also featured prominently on the catwalk, from Cavalli's long, straight and block fringes to Rocha's corkscrew curled bangs.

When it comes to styling, the catwalk is mixing it up for the new season. Keep it simple by adding in a SS17 catwalk favourite; the deep side parting. This works combined with the slick, wet-look texture as seen at Balmain and Hermes, while Ermanno Scervino introduced a messy wave. Switch up a classic style with the inclusion of an eye-catching braid such as Dior's tight twisted buns, Kenzo's looped and plaited ponytails or Cavalli's skinny bohemian braids. Hair accessories have also carried through from AW16 to SS17; Fendi opted for bright geometric slides while Elie Saab focused on metallic star detailing. However it was Dolce & Gabbana's colour and patterning clashing statement headbands which stole the show.

Ditch the neutral rose gold hues and add a pop of colour to your eye shadow this year - whether bright, pigmented graphic eye liner or intense coloured shadow around the upper and/or lower lines. Both Chloe and Ferretti preferred a smudgy eye over the more elaborate smoky eye, while Kenzo and Max Mara embraced coloured temples.

Exaggerated graphic cat eyes also featured prominently at Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab and Fendi, but fresh, alert and youthful eyes were also mixed in with more toned down looks such as Giuseppe Zanotti's glossy lids.

Switch up your lip look by wearing a simple clear or light pink gloss by day, then swap for something a little darker by night. Try out a blurred bitten lip by opting for a bright pink or red lip gloss that slowly fades out towards the outer edges of the lip, as seen at Charlotte Olympia. Statement glitter lips also featured at Fendi and DKNY in a range of complementary and extravagant hues.

Glowing, youthful skin made the catwalk in 2016, however the addition of glossy lids and exaggerated, flushed cheeks is what will make a statement in 2017. Replicate Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant's radiant skin with simple rosy cheeks and a highlighter across the temple and cheekbone.

Statement, attention-seeking ears were a real focal point on the SS17 catwalk. Proenza Schouler and Giamba painted the lobes in glittery silver and fluorescent yellow hues, while Bottega Veneta and Marchesa framed ears with hair accessories, earrings and slicked back hair styles to put them on show.
