Sara Al Tamimi has the sort of complexion you think one only sees in skincare commercials. And it’s no wonder, given the good care she takes of it. In addition to wearing sunscreen every day, and swearing by La Mer eye cream, the 23-year-old undergoes LPG twice a week, and gets her hair trimmed every six weeks.
Good thing then, that the Emirati is the creative director of her sister’s beauty business, Bedashing Beauty Lounge in the UAE capital.
With both a head for figures and fashion, the Abu Dhabi resident graduated from the Paris-Sorbonne University with a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Languages. Yet, no sooner had she graduated, she then enrolled in a year-long course in fashion design at Esmod Dubai.
But when Sara isn’t hard at work, she’s with her relatives. An aunt by the time she was seven years old, family is clearly a top priority for her. “I have six nieces and two nephews who I adore,” she says, while adding that you’ll usually find her hanging out at her mum’s house. “I love spending time with family. If I were to live elsewhere, I would definitely be homesick all the time.”
Admitting to selecting outfits for her family members – she’s one of four sisters – Sara recalls that even as a little girl, she loved to dress up and go shopping for her own clothes with her mother. “I always had an eye for outfits, for what would work and what wouldn’t. I’d love to be a personal stylist.” And with her penchant for pulling off varied looks, from a maroon and black Roberto Cavalli gown, to leather pants with a white tee, you know she’s got the credentials. “I’m also planning on starting my own prét-à-porter line,” she reveals. “I love designing clothes and I have been designing my own collection for some time now. That’s my passion and my dream career.”
