Tatyana Ovchinnikova may have a soft spot for shoes from Saint Laurent, Chanel and Tom Ford, but her latest obsession is with Olgana Paris – the high-fashion shoes that also happen to be high-comfort. In fact, Tatyana wore a pair of the walking-on-clouds stilettos for our shoot. Launched in 2014, the fact that Olgana Paris designer, Olgana Djanguirov, is one of Tatyana’s best friends means the qualified psychologist gets the first glimpse of any new designs, allowing her collection of treasured footwear to stay seasonally au courant.
A mother to three boys – Philip, 17, Ilya, 11, and Mark, four – Tatyana sees style as a chance to express herself in a way that words can’t. “Each person has their own style, and this is inspired by all the people they live with and surround themselves with; it’s their way of life.”
Whilst she “loves beautiful clothes, I of course have my own principles – an outfit should be comfortable for the day when I may be running errands or rushing around. But in the evening, a look should be fashionable, elegant and extravagant. My style is definitely more masculine than feminine as I like wearing suits and boots. But then sometimes, depending on my mood, I can throw on a pink dress!”
Naming Karl Lagerfeld as her style icon (“He’s a genius”), Tatyana says her latest purchases centre around long, elaborate evening dresses, which she likes to wear for catch-up dinners with her girlfriends at Dubai hotspot, Zuma.
One thing’s for certain – whether it’s casual daywear, or show-stopping eveningwear, Tatyana manages to put a measured personal touch to every look she wears.
