Seemingly unable to make her aesthetic any more girly, shoe designer Sophia Webster has managed to do just that with her latest collaboration with Mattel’s iconic heel-wearer, Barbie, to create a capsule collection especially for mothers and daughters.
It’s been presented to the region in a campaign featuring three inspirational mothers and their girls: Harper's Bazaar Arabia Editor-in-Chief Louise Nichol and Leo; Azyaamode.com founder Josette Awwad and Jude; plus celebrity chef Dalia Dogmoch Soubra, creator of Dalia’s Kitchen, with Joanna. The collection also celebrates Barbie wearing flat shoes for the first time, with three style-combinations for children based on the designer’s favourite shapes, reimagined for the famous doll.
“Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project, but getting to be a part of her embracing flats for the first time made it extra exciting, and deeply personal,” Sophia says.
