Feminine silhouettes in a pretty pastel colour palette are a Madiyah Al Sharqi signature, and were shown in full fashionable force this past weekend at Fashion Forward. But this season, there was an added edge. Sheer fabrics and embellished lace met asymmetric cuts in block colours for a look that screamed pretty-but-powerful, while military-esque, hi-lo crepe skirts were accessorised with peek-a-boo lace, and blazers were given the same tough-luxe treatment. Referencing the mood of the 1970s, it was grown-up glamour at its beautiful best, and marked another successful season for the Fujairah-based designer.
