Yalla!

We've seen the coming and going of the woven bag trend: summer 2017 the Jane Birkin-inspired basket was on the arm of every influencer and this past summer colourful woven handbags reigned supreme. Although the weather is cooling down, we refuse to allocate certain trends to any one season (except maybe puffer coats?) and Soraya Hennessy, an Abu Dhabi-based brand, is on the same exact page.

Their hand-woven bucket bags, which have been spotted across social media, give the usual summer accessory an adorable upgrade, featuring Arabic words like "Habibi" and "Yalla" across the front. Despite being the brand's first-ever bag to drop, they're still their number one seller...social media has only just really caught on to how chic they are. And so, the latest It Bag has arrived.

As a brand with such global roots, it only makes sense that Soraya Hennessy would cater to women globally. Founder Soraya Pena de Hennessy was born in Venezuela to a Wayuu mother - an ethnic group native to the area - before she moved her life to Abu Dhabi. The region left a major impression and so the Habibi and Yalla bags were born.
