The legendary Karl Lagerfeld showed his latest couture collection for Chanel in Paris this afternoon with a star-studded model line-up, including Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner who shimmied their way down the catwalk in glamorous, sequinned midi dresses in silver and navy.
The show was a lot smaller than previous affairs, with just 120 people having the pleasure of watching it live. The setting included mirrored floors and cream suede lounges, and the collection was reminiscent of the 1930s with the models sporting sleek, side-parted hair, feather-hemmed midis and oversized sleeves. Lagerfeld took his inspiration from Giacometti's Spoon Woman sculpture made in the late 1920s, which meant there was a distinct focus on the waist, with each design cinching through the middle to celebrate the feminine form. And there was, of course, tweed coordinates in the brand's classic colourways.
The brand's newest darling, Lily-Rose Depp, had the honour of closing the show, wearing a fabulous pastel pink confection with ruffled sleeves and a matching skirt. She was then joined by Lagerfeld for the final walk.
Plus, we're calling the accessory du jour for next season now - a pearl anklet, which each of the models wore during the show. You heard it here first.
