If there’s been one show that has undoubtedly filled us with pure joy, it would have to be Elie Saab. If that’s down to the sheer amount of dazzling embellishment his gowns offered up or the sweet pastel tones, then so be it.
With a nod to his Middle Eastern heritage, there was a true feeling of Arabian nights from the silhouettes to the evil eye and star-spangled beading covering many of the pieces. Off the shoulder dresses hinted to explorers of the early twentieth century, with slinky gowns and billowing capes showcasing the glamour of the era.
Other elements within the looks included the satin turbans which are sure to delight the woman of this region, teamed with oversized sunglasses that were covered in crystals matching those of the dress. If there was any doubt to Saab’s inspirations, then the finale of a palm-tree-studded ostentatious wedding gown cleared them up and proved the incredible craftsmanship of the house and designer.
