Overnight, Gucci showed its latest Cruise 2018 collection to a discerning crowd of influencers, A-list celebrities and top press (Bazaar's own fashion & beauty director included) in Florence.
Alessandro Michele sent an army of models down the catwalk (which made its way through seven rooms) in the Pitti Palace, in an array of eye-catching prints and textures, standout silhouettes and exquisite detailing across 115 looks. Exaggerated shoulders, cape details and high shine metallics were just some of the highlights in Alessandro's latest masterpiece of a collection.
What we learnt from the show is that the Gucci bag is set to reign supreme for the season ahead with several new updates hitting the runway - note to self: everything oversize is still in - and elaborate headwear, including turbans and crowns, had its position solidified for another season. Also, Alessandro is still king when it comes to overt, 70s-inspired maximalism.
