Industrial design brand Experiments Lab, which was started in 2009 by three freshly-graduated Kuwaiti architects Dalal Alhashash, Fatma Alobaid, and Khawla Alhussaini, will exhibit their latest project The Marble Collection in Kuwaiti fashion boutique Al Othman. The limited collection will display on 15, 16 and 17 May and will consist of five original handbag designs that have been inspired by, and explore the world of marble.

“The historic use of marble in architecture, art and design can be traced back many thousands of years in various societies and cultures”, explained Dalal Al Hashash, one of the co-founders of Experiments Lab. “The marble theme set for 2017 seeks to capitalize on the remainders of marble used in building construction to produce small-scale objects. It seeks to produce long-lasting, environmentally friendly and sustainable design objects from a material known for its tactile and strong characteristics, and imbued with both emotion and cultural relevance.”

Since opening in 1956, family-run retailer Al Othman has become the go-to boutique in Kuwait for all things high-fashion, with a directory of brands that includes Oscar de la Renta, Balmain, Erdem and Elie Saab – to name a few.

Don’t miss the three day exhibition open from 10am to 9:30pm.
