The Dubai Design and Fashion Council (DDFC) has teamed up with the FAD Institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style Dubai to announce an open call for regional designers for possible inclusion in the 2017 London Fashion Scout (LFS) program this September.
Billed as the largest independent showcase for emerging and established designers, LFS takes place during London Fashion Week, offering designers an incredible opportunity (and space within with) to showcase their collections. Previous international talent who have shown at LFS include Iris Van Herpen, David Koma and Peter Pilotto.
"One of the DDFC Membership's main objectives is to support and endorse creative talent," Jazia Aldhanhani, the CEO of DDFC said in a release. "By leveraging the international reach of LFS, we provide UAE-based designers with the opportunity to showcase and be celebrated on a global stage, as well as highlighting Dubai as a leading and ever-flourishing destination for design."
Deborah Henning and Sheikha Amal Al Maktoum were the two designers chosen for last season's showcase, and now the DDFC and FAD Dubai are on the hunt for this season's participants.
