He's the creative director of Fendi and Chanel, the proud owner of Choupette and all-round fashion legend, and now Karl Lagerfeld is adding hotelier to his well-styled bow.
WWD reports that Karl is set to launch Karl Lagerfeld Hotels & Resorts, which will include hotels, restaurants, private clubs and residential properties. With this empire extension, Karl is following in the footsteps of Versace (the brand has the Palazzo Versace in Australia and Dubai), Armani (locations in Milan and Dubai) and Bulgari (who has properties in Milan, London and Bali). South China Morning Post reports that Karl's first property will likely be built in Macau. Interesting, Donatella is also reportedly looking to open Asia's first Palazzo Versace here in the coming year.
Karl has previously dabbled in hotel design, having designed the Hôtel Metropole Monte-Carlo's swimming pool, as well as lending his eye and style to a 270-room hotel in Macau.
It's a bold move for the 83-year-old, but one that makes sense given his immaculate attention to detail and cool aesthetic. We can't wait to check ourselves into Chez Karl.
