New York based brand of the moment Supreme has teamed up again with one of the world’s most avant-garde labels Comme des Garçons, for a capsule collection just in time for spring. Collaborating with the Japanese brand's diffusion line Comme des Garçons Shirt, which looks at adding a twist to even the most basic wardrobe items including shirts which dominate the line, the pieces are sure to get fashion aficionados queuing up from New York to Paris and of course online when it drops on April 13.
With Supreme showcasing a preview across their social media sites, it appears we can expect a whole host of pieces featuring both the fashion houses logos superimposed together. Jackets, hoodies, t-shirts and suits also dominate the collection with many featuring an eyeball-print including a Nike Air Force 1 Lows which has already caught the eye (no pun intended) of street style stars and trainer collectors alike.
With the 2017 Met Gala set to celebrate Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons on May 1, the collection has undoubtedly been released to coincide with the fashion exhibit. A milestone in the Gala’s history Rei Kawakubo is also set to be the first living designer to be celebrated solely by the event since 1983 which saw Yves Saint Laurent take the spotlight. Although the collection appears to be male dominated, you can bet your last dollar we’ll be investing regardless.
