Lebanese designer Lama Jouni launched her label back in 2013, after having studied at Esmod, Istituto Marangoni and Parsons in Paris. She then went on to train at some of the world's most well-known fashion houses, including Balmain and Rad Hourani. Her aesthetic is reminiscent of these houses - with its clean lines, sharp cuts and signature tailoring made for the modern woman.
Her S/S17 collection, shown this weekend at Fashion Forward Season 8 at d3, was a strong one, drawing a large crowd to the venue. The waist was a focal point, and the colour palette was varied. Yellow-green coloured combinations for day sat alongside her signature monochromatic hues in this season's eveningwear pieces, whilst leather was paired with delicate camisoles and denim.
Lama's strengths lie in her ability to create pieces with an in-built sense of cool, pieces that give her customers that I-just-threw-this-on look. It's nonchalant, versatile, and undeniably Insta-ready. We're certain the LJ army will increase tenfold this season.
