From red carpet glamour to off-duty streetstyle, these are the 10 women who caught the BAZAAR team's eye this year...
1. FOR ADOPTING TRAINERS -
This year Victoria Beckham – who is famous for her love of high heels – swapped her stilettos for trainers. "I just can't do heels any more," she told The Telegraph. "At least not when I'm working. I travel a lot." It gave working women everywhere an excuse to give our feet a break (with proof that you can still look just as stylish).
2. HER WORKWEAR -
Despite having a newfound affection for trainers, Beckham still remained our number one workwear inspiration. Her pleated skirts, smart shirts and tailored co-ords all continued to inspire our choice of officewear.
3. SHE IS THE BEST ADVERT FOR HER OWN DESIGNS -
Victoria Beckham is rarely seen in anything other than Victoria Beckham. Her faith in and love of her own designs not only help her be one of the most stylish women in the world, but likely greatly aid her business as well.
1. SHE MAKES TRENDS LOOK WEARABLE -
The Danish blogger has really made a name for herself this year for her muted take on trends. While some of the people you spot at fashion week look incredible, it doesn't always feel like what they wear can be executed in real life. With Teisbaek though, it often feels much more relatable.
2. HER ACCESSORIES -
The addition of stylish touches from scarves to jewellery ensure that Teisbaek is always one of the best-dressed women on the front row. The takeaway? Stick to one or two strong pieces so you never overdo it.
3. SHE GIVES WORKWEAR A TRENDY TOUCH -
We all know workwear doesn't have to be dowdy, but this street-style star is proof that you can actually work the most daring of trends into your office wardrobe. Exaggerated sleeves, athleisure and clever layering are all proof.
1. HER OSCARS MOMENT -
Since turning up to the Academy Awards looking like the ultimate Bond girl in a gold Tom Ford gown, Margot Robbie's red-carpet wardrobe has gone from strength to strength.
2. HER SUMMER ON THE RED CARPET -
Promotional tours for Suicide Squad and Tarzan meant Robbie spent the summer on the red carpet in some of this season's most beautiful gowns. There was that unicorn-embellished Alexander McQueen dress, a ladylike sheer Miu Miu number and of course, this Gucci gown.
3. HER EASY-TO-WEAR OFF-DUTY WARDROBE -
Known for her low-key lifestyle, Robbie's off-duty wardrobe follows suit. Classic coats, relaxed jeans, pretty summer dresses and fancy flats.
1. HER TROUSER SUIT OBSESSION -
Even before the "pantsuit nation" took over, Stewart had been something of a trouser suit addict. From wearing them daringly bare to teaming them with T-shirts and trainers, we love her original take on the trend.
2. HER DRESSING DOWN OF EVERYTHING -
Including Chanel. With a T-shirt. Or swapping heels for trainers as soon as she's off the red carpet. It's become something of a signature for Stewart and we love her ability to mix high with low.
3. SHE DRESSES LIKE A SUPERMODEL -
And there's no denying it. From ab-baring moments in the middle of winter to revealing sheer gowns and cut-out catsuits, Gigi Hadid knows that she is hot property and doesn't miss a moment to make it known.
1. SHE IS POLISHED PERFECTION -
Never seen with a hair out of place, Gigi Hadid is on the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Olivia Palermo scale of polished perfection. Whatever she is wearing – even if it is her gym kit – she always looks well put-together and ready to have her photograph taken at any moment (lucky that, as she has photographers following her every move).
From her love of athleisure to workwear-ready outfits like this elegant Roland Mouret ensemble, the model is always willing to mix it up.
THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE
3. SHE SUPPORTS YOUNG BRITISH DESIGNERS -
While she'll never navigate far from the dress code, that doesn't mean the Duchess' wardrobe is either boring or predictable. Willing to take risks at the right moments – like in this off-the-shoulder Barbara Casasola dress – she's also a great supporter of young British designers.
2. SHE IS UNFAILINGLY APPROPRIATE -
With the kind of lifestyle she leads, it's not surprising that there are rules and dress codes to abide by. That being said, she does it better than anyone else. Whether for a day at the races or feeding elephants in India, she knows exactly what to wear for every occasion.
1. SHE KNOWS WHAT SUITS HER -
As proven when she bought this beautiful Preen dress in both red and black, the Duchess knows what suits her and isn't afraid to wear the same thing more than once.
1. FOR SHAKING UP "MATERNITY STYLE" -
Just like the first time around, Blake Lively did not play by the maternity rulebook during her second pregnancy. From a leather bodice to skin-tight dresses with cut-out detail, a growing bump does not stop this woman from wearing what she wants and she proved that pregnant women do not have to compromise.
2. HER PRINCESS WARDROBE -
The actress has a wardrobe that any little girl (including her two daughters) would dream to have. This was most evident in Cannes. First there was the Cinderella-inspired ruffled gown and then Lively wore this blue Versace dress that inevitably drew Elsa comparisons. A wardrobe fit for a princess.
3. FOR THIS RALPH & RUSSO DRESS -
Lively accompanied her husband Ryan Reynolds to the White House for a state dinner in March. The actress wore a beautiful – and appropriate – gown by Ralph & Russo, which became one of our favourite fashion moments of the year.
1. HER COMING-OF-AGE CANNES MOMENT
In perhaps one of the most-talked-about red-carpet appearances of the year, Hadid wore a daring red gown by Alexandre Vauthier – a moment that caused her to come out of her elder sister's shadow for good.
2. HER COOL OFF-DUTY STYLE
She doesn't appear to have found her "uniform" yet, meaning she's always up for trying something new. From edgy co-ords to fashion-forward yellow sunglasses, she'll often step outside of her comfort zone and that is something to be admired.
3. IN DIOR
After becoming the face of the brand earlier this summer, Hadid's relationship with Dior has made for some very special red-carpet moments, none more so than when she became the first to wear one of Maria Grazia Chiuri's designs. The pairing is a match made in heaven.
1. HER AWARD-SEASON STYLE -
The Oscar-winning actress proved she could hold her own alongside the Hollywood heavyweights in a number of beautiful Louis Vuitton gowns. From this pleated white dress that she wore to the Golden Globes to the yellow "Belle" number, Vikander landed on every best-dressed list going.
3. HER LITTLE TOUCHES
From embellished hair accessories to delicate earrings, we love the elegant touches she adds to her red carpet ensembles.
2. SHE KEEPS THINGS SIMPLE -
She may be fairly new to the fame game but Vikander always manages to look dressed to perfection. How? Because she keeps it simple. From elegant black dresses to tailored coats, she proves that it's hard to go wrong when you opt for the classics.
