Avante-Garde Meets Red Soles In The New Maison Margiela X Christian Louboutin Collaboration

Craft meets creativity in this exclusive designer collaboration

Christian Louboutin and Maison Margiela, two renowned French fashion houses, have launched a novel collaboration today. After working together for Margiela’s Artisanal Spring 2024 couture show, the two brands are now releasing a whole footwear collection that combines their own styles. The two separate capsule lines in the collection, ‘Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin’ and Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela,’ each provide a distinctive combination of their individual design philosophies.

The Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin capsule combines Louboutin’s characteristic elegance with Margiela’s iconic Tabi silhouette. Highlights include the sculptured Loubiella sandal, the crystal-encrusted Bridiela Una Strass pump, and the Marlougiela ballerina, all of which include Louboutin’s signature red sole—a flawless combination of the two brands.

On the other hand, the Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela capsule embraces deconstruction by mixing signature Louboutin styles with Margiela’s decortiqué method. While the Xrismarteen boot and Martoubi 25 pump have striking hand-painted crimson details, standout items like the Martinloula pump and Bilougiela 25 sandal reveal unpolished craftsmanship.

In addition to honouring the long-standing friendship between Christian Louboutin and John Galliano, this collaboration gives fashion enthusiasts the opportunity to acquire a piece of pioneering design history. Prices for the collection range from $1,095 to $2,395 and can be purchased online at the official websites of both maisons and in a few shops across the globe as of now.
