As part of Costa’s Global Community Week, the coffeehouse aims to raise Dhs100,000 for Al Noor Training Centre, a school for children with special needs.
Hug a Mug will run from October 13 to 21 and encourages people to literally hug one another. Cuppie, Costa’s coffee cup mascot, will be on hand at Costa outlets around the UAE, ready to hug those who make a donation to the cause. People can also participate by sharing their act of kindness on social media using the hashtag #HugAMug. Every time the hashtag is used, Costa will donate Dhs1 to Al Noor. And if you’re not on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, just upload to your photo to hugamug.ae. to donate directly.

Our friends at Al Noor Training Centre continue to do great work but are reliant on funding from their partners, sponsors and local community so we wanted to share some love and do our bit to help. Hug a Mug is a fun and rewarding initiative that everyone can get involved in.”
Costa will also have limited edition Al Noor cupcakes and a white chocolate lattes on offer during the week of the initiative, with all proceeds going to the Al Noor Training Centre.
