There was a lot of buzz around JW Marriott Marquis Dubai’s latest restaurant, even before the official opening. We had the chance to try Morah for ourselves and are thrilled to share that the experience was unquestionably worth reliving.
Located on the 71st floor of the world's tallest hotel, even the lift up to Morah provides rising views of the city. The restaurant itself is intimate yet brightly-lit. Coloured with soft, pastel hues, Morah offers a refreshing contrast to the darker atmospheres of many Dubai hotspots, and we dare say that the perfect-for-sharing food just might be the best in town.

Each dish we tried was rich with texture and inspired by a variety of Eastern and Coastal Mediterranean flavours. Every item on the menu was presented with a kind of architecture to it, like lamb ribs mantled atop a plate of buttermilk sauce. From the delectable fried chicken with tahini, za’atar and spicy habanero to the tuna tartar with jalapeno dressing, the starters were nothing short of impressive.

For the main course, the 48-hour short rib was a standout dish while much of Morah’s cuisine, such as the grilled boneless branzino, incorporated an incredible blend of Persian flavours. The dishes provided the perfect balance of unique and traditional tastes that took us out of our comfort zones without being intimidating.

As far as dessert, the charming staff recommended the strawberry cheese cake qatayef with honey syrup and pistachio. Uniquely presented, this sweet course reinvented the definition “cheese cake” for us and definitely did not disappoint.

If you’re looking for great food with photo-worthy presentation (because let’s be real, who isn’t these days?), then don’t let Morah slip under your radar. Fair warning though: you might be overwhelmed by all the tempting choices.
