This weekend, on Saturday March 19, the JW Marriott Marquis will play host to the second Cultural Game Changers event, here in Dubai. The first was held last year in London, and following a successful debut, has now reached our shores. Beginning at 11:45am, the hour-long event will see Tina Edmundson, the Global Officer of luxury and lifestyle brands for Marriott International and Alex Kyriakidis, the President and Managing Director, Middle East and North Africa, for Marriott International host a panel discussion with some of the region's brightest and most creative minds.
Panellists include Bazaar Best Dressed 2016 participant Dana Farouki (a patron of Art Dubai, as well as chair of The Abraaj Group Art Prize and trustee of MoMA PS1 and Creative Time), Kinda Ibrahim (the Director of Media Partnerships for Twitter MENA), Danielle Perissi (Head of Documentary, Film & Television and Marketing & Communications for Image Nation Abu Dhabi), Khulood Thani (designer and founder of fashion label Bint Thani) and Suzanne Trocmé (author, curator, designer and editor-at-large). The talk will be moderated by Bronwyn Cosgrave, a best-selling author, curator and cultural commentator.
The event serves to facilitate discussions about the future of "art, design, fashion, film and media" both locally and internationally, as well as providing an opportunity to identify trends within the respective markets for the next generation. Watch this space.
The event is invite-only, but the panel discussion will be streamed live on JW Marriott Marquis' Periscope channel (@JWDubaiMarquis) from 11:45am GST.
