Innovator, rebel, genius, David Bowie is perhaps the greatest single influence on a generation of creatives. From Raf Simons cites his favourite film as Christiane F., for which Bowie composed the soundtrack in 1981, to Alexander McQueen who collaborated with the singer on costumes in 1997. He taught designers and artists all about the incredible, radical power of transformation. In memory of the musician, who lost an 18-month battle with cancer today aged 69, we look back at his life in fashion. All pictures via Getty.
