The Great Pyramid at Giza and Egypt’s ancient archaeological sites are worldwide icons, so it’s no wonder we have seen everyone from Alicia Keys to Kourtney Kardashian holiday in the North African country. And this weekend, opting for a holiday full of Arabic culture is Burberry’s creative director Riccardo Tisci.
The Italian fashion designer shared his adventures on Instagram, starting with his visit to the pyramids.
Tisci visited ancient ruins in Cairo, and posted what can only be described as an unofficial Burbery campaign with his four friends, all clad in the British fashion house’s signature Nova check print.
Friend and make-up artist Henrique Martins even posted a selfie of him wearing head-to-toe Burberry, including a bucket hat, jacket, shirt and pants from the brand.
The group also visited the Egyptian museum posting pictures of Pharoes, tombs and iconic statues.
Tisci even nicknamed himself Indian Jones, presumably as a nod to the 1981 flick Raiders of the Lost Ark, where the intrepid archaeologist visits a secret chamber in Tanis, Egypt.
Could this be the inspiration that prompts a new Egyptian-inspired Burberry collection? We’ll have our eyes firmly glued to the S/S20 catwalks come London Fashion Week in September.
