Festival season is now well and truly upon us, and we've just been given news of one more event to look forward to. This time, however, it's not on the fields, but on the luxurious grounds of W Dubai - The Palm. W Hotels are bringing their ever popular Wake Up Call music festival series to the Emirates, meaning that for three nights only (10 to 12 October) you can experience all your favourite artists at one venue.
Wake Up Call festival has been touring the world, starting out in Los Angeles, then landing in Barcelona and Bali. Charli XCX, Martin Solveig and Tove Lo are just some of the big names that have graced previous Wake Up Call lineups.
It promises to be a weekend to remember, since only the first few names on the programme have been announced, and they're none other than celebrated international stars Rita Ora and Disclosure. They'll be joined by DJs from around the world, as well as dance group Rüfüs Du Sol. No doubt we'll see some more celeb additions to the lineup in the coming weeks...
W Hotels are changing the standard festival game, inviting attendees to ditch the packed main stage area for a more intimate environment - the hotel's beachfront pool deck with spectacular skyline views, for one. You'll be swapping food stands for W Dubai's award-winning Torno Subito and Akira Back rooftop restaurants (they're offering room service, too). And never mind backstage passes - if you're a member of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty scheme, you can bid your points for a yoga session with Rita Ora or a private DJ performance from Disclosure. I can think of worse ways to spend an evening.
