Update (25/09): Serial "prankster" Vitalli Sediuk, the man who grabbed Gigi Hadid from behind as she was leaving the MaxMara show on Thursday evening and subsequently copped a few very well-deserved elbows to the face, has spoken out about why he picked Gigi up. Apparently, it was him making a stand against the current state of fashion.

"While I consider Gigi Hadid beautiful, she and her friend Kendall Jenner have nothing to do with high fashion. By doing this, I encourage the fashion industry to put true talents on the runway and Vogue covers instead of well-connected cute girls from Instagram. You can call it a manifest or a protest. This is also a wake-up call for Anna Wintour, who turned Vogue into a tabloid by putting Kardashians and other similar celebrities on a cover of a well-respected magazine," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Gigi immediately goes into defence mode and elbows him in the face several times before he lets go and runs off. She begins to go after him before her security stops her.

A couple of UK publications ran the video next to the headline "Not Model Behaviour" which Gigi rightly took offence to. The blonde beauty took to Twitter to comment on the situation, writing,

Support flooded in immediately for Gigi, and later she cheekily tweeted that she "thanked my boxing coach today" before dishing out some badass self-defence advice for women.

We all know who won this round. #TeamGigi
