It was the year we saw the rise of Meghan Markle and Priyanka Chopra, Queen Rania continued to lead the way in modestwear and Amal Clooney gave us lesson in all things workwear-chic. Ahead, 10 women who owned 2018 in the most fashionable way.

Queen Rania

The perennial queen (pun always intended) of modestwear, Queen Rania of Jordan’s sartorial knack for altering runway looks to create more conservative silhouettes never fails to wow us. As does her continual support of Middle Eastern designers and home-grown talent.

Meghan Markle

We simply couldn’t mention fashion in 2018 without talking about the Duchess of Sussex. The newly-wed has made headlines all year, from her Givenchy by Clare Waight Keller wedding gown to her slew of maternity outfits and her affinity for championing lesser known designers. We can’t wait to see what 2019 brings – tot in tow – for Meghan Markle.

Amal Clooney

The British-Lebanese human rights lawyer has been our workwear style icon since she stepped onto the scene in 2013. Fast-forward five years and nothing has changed – and nor probably will it come the New Year.

Priyanka Chopra

Former Bazaar cover star Priyanka Chopra has come a long way since her pageant days – sartorially and otherwise. In 2018 she wowed us with a custom Ralph Lauren bridal dress, several sparkly red carpet numbers and that Dior gown from the royal wedding.

Yasmine Sabri

With a penchant for bold red hues and plenty of sequins, former Bazaar cover star Yasmine Sabri has earned a firm spot on our best dressed list.

Taleedah Tamer

Whether she’s walking the Antonio Grimaldi runway or lounging around in athleisure finery, Saudi’s first couture model sure knows how to make a statement.

Nadine Nassib Njeim

Can we just crown Nadine Nassib Njeim as the unofficial ambassador of Zuhair Murad already? The former Bazaar cover star has treated us to a myriad of looks from the Lebanese designer over the past year, and we can’t get enough.

Camila Coelho

If 2018 has reaffirmed anything, it’s that Brazilian beauty Camila Coelho could wear a potato sack and still slay us all. Is there anything this woman can’t pull off?

How – we repeat – HOW is this woman 50-years-old? You can always count on JLO for a plethora of saucy red carpet looks with a healthy sprinkling of Middle Eastern designers.

Gemma Chan

Crazy Rich Asians actress Gemma Chan is just as stylish IRL as her on-screen character Astrid Young Teo. Her red carpet wardrobe reads like a who’s who of elegant couture designers, from Valentino to Oscar de la Renta.
