Queen Rania took a trip to the village of Umm Qais in Irbid with Princess Iman on Monday. The Queen of Jordan and the princess spent some time learning about sustainable tourism and how it can stimulate economic growth, along with protecting Jordan’s natural resources and heritage.
In Umm Qais, her majesty visited Beit Al Baraka which is a place where tourists are offered the authentic Umm Qais experience.
Queen Rania and Princess Iman participated in a basket weaving and scarf embroidering session, which are part of classes offered at Beit Al Baraka that are designed to expose visitors to Jordan’s heritage and culture.
They also prepared Eid cookies alongside locals at Galsoum’s Kitchen, a hot spot for many tourists who wish to try authentic Jordanian food made with local ingredients.
