With a global economy that's becoming increasingly URL-friendly, finding a hotel that can act as your home (or office?) base can be a struggle. What if the wi-fi is slow? What if there aren't any public spaces to work from? Luckily for you, we found the perfect place to set up shop during London Fashion Week - but it'll work as your remote work haven any time of the year

In today's remote-friendly working climate, travelling for work and travelling for fun can often seem to blur into the same trip. If work and play are inextricably linked, the least you can do is book a stay that easily accommodates both - we're talking amazing co-working spaces and an amazing spa. If a business trip ever brings you to London, Hotel Café Royal is the home away from home (or office away from the office?!) you're looking for.

In the midst of London Fashion Week, I called the HCR my home base to work, hang out in-between shows, and unwind from the chaos. They had the basics covered with a central location, various spaces to work during the day, plenty of options for in-house dining to meet with clients, and a spa that is so stunning you'll hardly believe you're in the centre of London.

As soon as you enter the building, amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, you're immediately met with a calmness that's so rare in any major city. The perfect marriage of historic architecture (dating back to 1865) and contemporary design, you couldn't pick a more stunning backdrop to get to inbox zero whether you've set up shop in your room or in one of the elegant, yet surprisingly relaxes restaurants - the Art Deco-influenced Ten Room and Papillon being two local favourites.

Over the years, the Hotel Café Royal has been a haven for global celebrities, from Elizabeth Taylor to Muhammad Ali, and the attention to detail in everything they do makes it apparent.

Suites emphasize the character of the building with carved stone mouldings and herringbone floors, as well as English oak wood and Portland stone lining the walls. The sleek bathroom has the perfect marble tub to finish off a busy day in London, and in my case, a perfect end to London Fashion Week.
