Always ahead of its time in terms of aesthetic, finesse and style Chanel managed to re-define women’s haute horlogerie fashion when it embarked on its watchmaking journey back in the early 2000’s with the creation of its J12 watch.
First created in black (and then in white) in 2003, the timepiece is known for adding a touch of modern elegance to any woman’s look.
Fast forward two decades and the maison is celebrating 20 years since the release of the timepiece by introducing a limited-edition version of the iconic watch…
Introducing The J12.20
The J12.20 encapsulates a sense of freedom by including a touching tribute to Chanel’s founder, Coco Chanel’s favourite blossom – the Camellia – along with incorporating 20 other elements of the maison (such as the quintessential tweed jacket, 2.55 handbag and the N°5 perfume) within the timepiece.
Embellished with 12 diamonds, intricate detailing in the form of polished rhodium-plated motifs can be seen on both the bezel and dial of the watch. Equipped with the caliber 12.1 and limited to 2020 pieces, the timepiece is also available in an Haute Horlogerie enameled version (numbered and limited to 5 pieces.)
In honour of this exciting milestone within J12’s history, friends of the maison – such as Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Vanessa Paradis, to name a few – have all shared a special memory, within 20 seconds, on camera.
