Everything Bella Hadid Did During Her Trip To Dubai

If there’s anyone who knows how to put a smile on our faces it’s Bella Hadid. The Palestinian-American supermodel appears to be as sweet and genuine on camera as she is off-camera (something which certainly cannot be said for all celebrities.)

Yesterday the city was in a tizzy when fans found out that the model was in town, making a surprise appearance at Dubai Mall for a very exciting launch event.

It’s been a busy few months for Bella. She’s been focusing on her fragrance brand, Orebella, and building a life with her new beau, Cutting star Adan Banuelos — even competing in rodeos and taking home her first championship buckle.

So, what brought her to the region?

Why was Bella Hadid in Dubai?

The Palestinian-American model came to the region for the opening of Chopard’s new boutique in Dubai Mall.

She was joined by the house’s creative director Caroline Scheufele and the pair cut the ribbon together, before entering the boutique and meeting with industry insiders and clients — including two little “princesses”.

Bella was announced as the new face and global ambassador of the house back in September, so it’s unsurprising she’s come to town to inaugurate the new boutique.

“I love Arab women. They’re so strong and incredible. That’s how my teta was and all of my aunts on my dad’s side. They’re all very strong women and I think that’s what’s so beautiful about an Arab woman,” Bella told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia in her October 2018 cover story.

Later on she made an appearance at an exclusive after-party at Jaipur Rugs in Alserkal Avenue.

Dressed in a gold flowing dress from Elie Saab’s Autumn 2004 Haute Couture line, she smiled and waved at fans, while mingling with guests and clients at the event. Bella and Caroline also had a very special encounter with Dubai-based beauty mogul and Bazaar Arabia cover star Huda Kattan on stage at the party. The trio posed for photos together, before Bella gave Huda a big hug.

Other notable guests at the event included Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Bride cover star and actress Cynthia Samuel Bakri, Rabih Rowell, Natasha Aris, Oscar Kraye and model Baran Ghiass.

Bella’s stay was short but sweet, and her trip would of course not be complete without tasting the deliciously iconic Fix chocolate bar – viral for its exotic flavours of Dubai knafeh pistachio, merged with premium, rich Belgian chocolate.

Bella Hadid on Her Arab Roots

Bella Hadid has always had a special connection to the region. Being of Palestinian heritage on her father, Mohamed Hadid’s, side she has talked openly about her Arab roots.

“My dad was a refugee. He came from Palestine to America when he was a baby. Thankfully, he was able to come, but it was very hard and now it’s probably 100 times harder. It makes me sad that power is getting taken from a lot of people and they’re not able to make a new life for their children and their families. It’s crazy to me that one person can tell you whether or not you can have a better life,” she said.
