Already a cult product within the beauty world, Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir has gotten a stylish update as the French brand collaborates with famed fashion designer Jason Wu. Both known for their impeccable craftsmanship and luxurious products, the friends created the perfect partnership by keeping the iconic formula and ‘dressing’ the bottle.
Using a piece of delicate lace from Wu’s spring/summer 2016 collection, he masterfully recreated the pattern by hand before it was sketched onto the bottle. Creating a custom logo which brought both the brands signatures together, the bottle was finished off with light gold hardware found in Wu’s studio for an extra touch of extravagance.
A regular at the Caudalie Vinothérapie Spa in New York, Jason was no stranger to the powerful effects of the Beauty Elixir. For his runway shows, he even gave his make-up artists the elixir as part of their preparations, where the artists can use it in between foundation and powder to help set the makeup. Wu who was first gifted the Beauty Elixir for Christmas by a friend has now like many others become a loyal fan for life.
Born in 1997 the Beauty Elixir was inspired by a youth elixir found in a book of spells that was once used in the 16th century by the Queen of Hungary. Reworking the original formula founder of Caudalie, Mathilde Thomas looked to what women look for today alongside developing a lust-worthy fragrance. Part mist and part toner the formula not only includes Caudalie’s most iconic ingredient, grape pulp extract for radiance-enhancing effects but also a whole host of other natural remedies from rose for radiance and rosemary extract to energise the skin.
