Pinky promise: The fashion house joins forces with the A-List for an inspiring global partnership campaign

Louis Vuitton has announced an exciting new partnership with UNICEF to raise much-needed funds to provide children in crises with essential care and protection. In conjunction with the initiative, the fashion house has also designed a Silver Lockit pendant and bracelet — inspired by Georges Vuitton’s legendary unpickable tumbler lock — which has been chosen to symbolise protection.

The items are available to purchase in Louis Vuitton stores and online worldwide for Dhs3,000 each, Dhs1,100 from which will be donated directly to UNICEF on each sale. “UNICEF is a strong and reliable leader in humanitarian action. Together, we can make a real difference to children in the most vulnerable situations,” said Michael Burke, Chariman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. He went on to explain, “Charity stars at home. Out 20,000 staff members have joined forces to generate strong ideas for this cause. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible, ask them to share our promise and make a real difference.”

“UNICEF is glad to be working with Louis Vuitton to provide care and protection to the world’s most vulnerable children. The partnership will also help shed light on silent emergencies that might not be in the public eye but affect children in a devastating and long-lasting way.”  Said Gerard Bocquenet, Director, Private Fundraising and Partnerships, UNICEF.

“Together, we can make a real difference to children”

In addition to launching the Silver Lockit, Louis Vuitton have also launched the #MakeAPromise social media campaign which hopes to raise awareness and funds around the world for the sixth bi-annial UNICEF Ball, which will took place in LA last night.

Nicolas Ghesquière has already been joined by the evening’s guests such as Selena Gomez, Nicole Kidman, Léa Seydoux, and Adèle Exarchopoulos and more, to launch the global campaign:
