Exclusive: Nathalie Trad’s Paris Fashion Week Diary | Day Two

Paris Fashion Week Day 2 started off with coffee with Sandra Mansour, my soul sister, showroom partner and good friend! We love getting together every season and sharing this beautiful Parisian space.

This season the colours of Sandra’s collection perfectly complement the dusty rose and iridescent shades of our clutches. Her collection this season – La Fleur des Eaux – is one of my favourite collections from her yet with its surrealist, whimsical elements and shell motifs.

Today we had fun explaining to buyers and press the techniques used in my new collection, which include how we transform our shells into clutches! One of the buyers that came in today was the lovely Emma Pull from The Shop at Bluebird in London who we have been working with for two years. Today I got to show her my very first venture into footwear, in partnership with luxury British footwear designer Rupert Sanderson. It has been an ambition of mine for a long time to transform my materials into new accessories. It has been great to see the reaction from the press and buyers for this. 

From shell to clutch: The iridescent Astrid Mother of Pearl

I love being in the showroom and meeting lots of new faces and fans of the brand. Today it was great to meet Angelica from Angy’s Tea Party who was modelling the Lynx clutch from our current collection, in stores now, on the balcony of our showroom.

It was also great to see my friends from Dubai, Maitha, Umran and Bong from D3 and Brag who came in to show us some support and give us their valuable feedback on my latest collection. 

Once the day was done, I ended the evening with dinner at Costes to unwind with my Paris Fashion Week crew.
