Get Personal With Gucci’s Expanded DIY Service

Gucci launched its first personalisation service last month, allowing customers to customise the Dionysus handbag in any which way they wanted. Thanks to its (unsurprising) success (seriously, someone needs to make a statue of Alessandro Michele), the brand has just launched an expanded range of DIY-able items, including shoes and jackets from the ready-to-wear collections. 

You could take your inspiration from Gigi Hadid and brandish your name across the back of one of the brand’s cool silk bombers or leather jackets, or take it head-to-toe and decorate your own pair of sneakers.

The house said in a statement, “The DIY service also references punk culture – celebrating its 40th anniversary this year – which is something Alessandro Michele has always found fascinating. Punk held that anyone could become a musician or fashion designer. All you needed was imagination and the courage to Do It Yourself. In many ways, this rebellious subculture was rooted in a desire for self-expression.”

Whilst the service is currently only available in the Milan store, there are plans to expand it to international stores soon. We’ll get our ideas together in the meantime so that we’re ready to go when it arrives. – Maddison Glendinning
