DAS Footwear Launches At Level Shoe District

Born out of her own frustration at not being able to find a comfortable-but-cool shoe for everyday wear, Reem Beljafla’s new line, DAS Footwear, fills a gap that the 32-year old saw in the local market. The result is a leather wedge in 12 different colours, with plans to release the style in exotic skins next, that is both practical and pretty, and in particular, offers the abaya-wearing women of the region the right amount of height, as well as comfort. “Traditionally, wedges have been offered in materials such as canvas, cork or raffia, which I found to be too casual,” she says. “I saw an opportunity to elevate the silhouette and give it added sophistication by creating it in luxurious leathers.”

 

To celebrate the launch, the brand is hosting a pop-up at Level Shoe District in The Dubai Mall until February 15, after which they’ll be available as part of the store’s offerings for the duration of the season. Run, don’t walk, to get your hands on a pair before they go.
