Nicolas Ghesquière Hopes To Launch His Own Label

What would this mean for Louis Vuitton?​

Nicolas Ghesquière has announced that he would love to start an eponymous label “soon”. Speaking to the French talk show Le Petit Journal, the designer opened up about his hopes for the future.

When asked if he will launch his own line, Ghesquière said, “I hope so, I could do it. I would like to do it soon. I don’t have a date, but I’ll come back to you.”

While the designer made no mention of what that would mean for Louis Vuitton, his comment will no doubt kickstart rumours that the creative director may be thinking of moving on from the brand.

Ghesquière has been at the helm of Louis Vuitton for almost three years and previously held the same position at Balenciaga for 15 years.
