Discover Your Dubai Treasure With Fleur’s Finds

Bazaar sat down with founder Fleur Yennek-Butcher, who is bringing contemporary fine jewellery designs to the heart of Dubai

As a trained jeweller and gemologist, Fleur soon saw the potential of hosting international designers in the city upon her move to Dubai in 2015.

Originally from London, Fleur has long harboured a passion for exceptional gems, and after qualifying as a goldsmith and jewellery designer in Hatton Garden – the city’s famed “jewellery street” – she made the move to Dubai.

“The art scene and appreciation for contemporary and original designs are growing here,” Fleur says, “and I wanted to jump right in with some modern jewellers. It’s exciting experiencing the evolution of fine jewellery, especially in a region that is categorised mostly by traditional jewellery aesthetics. It’s wonderful to see the melting pot of tastes, trends and love for jewels.”

Launched in 2016, Fleur’s Finds now presents carefully curated collections from some of the world’s most talented jewellery designers. Available for purchase either by appointment in Dubai or via the website, the jewels are focused on art and craftsmanship.

As Fleur explains, “in a world of mass production and imitations, Fleur’s Finds seeks out honest and original designers that follow through with their creative process. It’s also a place that every client will walk away with their very own hand made treasure, their own fingerprint of a jewel, as unique as they are in the world.”

Designers include Cadby & Co, which sees Deborah Cadby’s jewels set with the exceptional gems found by her father Jeff, a long-established antique jewellery dealer in the UK. Deborah’s hand crafted designs therefore include unique period stones such as rose-cut diamonds and natural pearls in warm 22-karat gold or steely platinum.

Fleur directs us to some of her personal favourites, including a pair of Champagne earrings by Hozoni Designs. “They’re so feminine and light,” she says. “These golden drops are hand forged and set with two beautiful rough pink sapphires from Myanmar.” Another standout piece is the Lilith Interlocking ring from Cardinal of London, composed of two rings that can be worn separately or together. “It reminds me of an ethereal flower, sparkling with diamonds and amethyst thorns…” Fleur muses.
