7 Style Lessons From The S/S26 Collections That You Can Work Into Your Wardrobe Now
As Fashion Month comes to an end, one thing remains certain — though the runways spoke of spring, their lessons are ready to wear right now
With fashion show season about to wrap up, we’re feeling a bit sentimental — not quite ready to return to the daily grind without a dose of new season inspiration. But now comes the quiet contemplation – the digesting of a busy run of shows, and a pivot towards the new trends on our horizon. Keen to get started? Here are one or two (more like seven) style lessons we can already start incorporating into our wardrobes to look in the know.
Eye-catching Hats
From pillbox hats reminiscent of the 1960s, to the colourful, ladylike millinery as seen in Loro Piana’s showcase, or crochet hats for those who can’t relinquish the boho trend quite yet – the key is to choose a hat that reflects your personality, and adds a little pizzazz.

The Skinny Scarf
Scarves have been everywhere this season — both on and off the catwalks. With cooler months ahead, it makes sense for the trend to continue, yet rest assured we won’t be restricting their use to warmth. Style them in your hair à la Anna Sui, or tie them around your waist for a street-style-inspired approach. This season, and the one to come, we’re willing to bet that scarves will be the ultimate It-girl accessory.

Statement Belts
A/W25’s belt fever is ramping up. The secret to pulling it off? Creativity. Forget convention and think beyond the classic leather belt: silk scarves, apron ties, even layered sashes — anything that defines the waist is fair game. Bonus points if it’s not technically a belt at all. But if you must, make it a statement — stack them up, mix textures, and remember: when it comes to belting, moderation is overrated.

Argyle Revival
A style lesson straight from the Blair Waldorf lookbook: argyle and chequered patterns are having a major moment. Look to Burberry for a modern interpretations, and for street-style cues, New York and London Fashion Week attendees offered plenty of styling ideas.

Peep Toes
The penchant for high-fashion flip-flops for A/W25 is evolving for the incoming season, and it seems designers aren’t quite ready to clad our toes just yet. Cue the peep-toe trend – seen on the runways in the form of stilettos, mules and even peep-toe boots that hark back to J.Lo’s glory days.

Off-Duty Uniforms
Whether you’re off to work or off duty, you’ll likely find yourself reaching for some kind of utilitarian, uniform-inspired ensemble for the S/S26 season. We saw it at Prada, Khaite, Ralph Lauren and more. From military codes to nautical touches, the key is to find balance: add romantic touches to soften the rigidity uniform styling can bring. Think lace, ruffles, or go full Prada and throw in some opera gloves. Unexpected juxtaposition is the way to go.

Trinkets
While the Labubu craze may be fading (at least, we hope), we’re not quite done with the urge to over-accessorise. Bags, shoes, you name it — brooches, pendant necklaces, and tassels will be the go-to trinkets for It-bags this season. Bonus points if it’s vintage and looks like it might be haunted.
