Jonathan Simkhai Debuts First Resort Collection

Inspired by a trip to Anguilla for his 30th birthday, Jonathan Simkhai’s first resort collection perfectly echoes his feminine yet urban aesthetic. Convinced by friends on the trip to create a beach-ready line that would compliment his runway looks, the designer took the challenge in his stride and his first Resort collection was born, “It was a fun process to transform some of my core silhouettes and design details into statement swim pieces,” he commented.

Featuring a juxtaposition of fine, crochet pieces with sport-luxe swimwear in blush to bright tones the line has a range to suit every woman’s personal style. Commenting on his softer approach to designing, the 2015 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner said,“My early collections veered slightly sportier. As my aesthetic has matured, my designs have become more feminine. I am constantly inspired by the confluence between masculine strength and feminine sensuality.”
