In Celebration Of Her Daughter’s Birthday, Sherihan Shares An Intimate Family Story
The legendary Egyptian superstar revealed how she was blessed with her second daughter, Taliya, after battling cancer and overcoming adversaries
Sherihan recently resumed her acting career after a 30-year hiatus, having made her comeback in the stage production of Coco Chanel in the role of the iconic French designer. Having retired after suffering from a broken spinal cord in 1991, and then contracting a rare form of cancer years later in 2002, the superstar performer certain has conquered her fair share of challenges throughout her life.
In a recent Instagram post she gets vulnerable and shares how, after overcoming adversaries, she still had dreams to grow her family despite the fact doctors advised against it.
On a Hajj pilgrimage in 2008 Sherihan prayed for a daughter, reciting the Surah Maryam and promising God she would name her daughter Taliyat al Quraan or Maryam if she did become pregnant; when blessed with a healthy baby girl, the actress made true to her promise and named her second daughter Taliya.
“Like mother, like daughter, the older you grow, the more and more I see myself in you, my beautiful daughter. Ever since the day you were born, you have been warming my heart and filling it with love and joy year after year. You are the sweetest, kindest and most caring young person and I am so very proud of you. Happy birthday my little princess Taliya! You are a treasure from above,” she wrote within the caption Sherihan wrote for daughter’s birthday post.
