As with any star-studded event featuring some of the world’s best musicians, the 65th edition of the Grammy Awards had excited fans reacting to the glamorous affair.

The grand ceremony saw the industry’s most-awarded names take the stage to perform and accept awards for their musical achievements over the last year.

This year’s event saw a lot of first-time nominated artists such as the TikTok famous Gayle and Steve Lacy, icons from the past who have made widely-loved comebacks such as Brandi Carlile and Mary J. Blige, and A-listers such as Beyoncé, Adele, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, and Harry Styles.

What came with this mixed bag was an assortment of humorous, emotional, and disappointed reactions to the eventful evening by Twitter’s most opinionated. From gasp-worthy tweets to Sam Smith’s devilish performance to passionate sentiments towards Beyoncé’s Best Album loss, here are some of the best Twitter reactions to the 2023 Grammy’s.

When Harry’s House Won Best Album Of The Year

Already titled a historical snub, the BeyHive is irked over Queen Bey’s Album of the Year loss. While some of the reactions are humorous and masked in lighthearted irony, other fans point out how they think Harry’s win is undeserved. Either way, Beyoncé’s fans are having a conflicting evening as the legendary vocalist broke records to become the most-awarded Grammy winner.

The Emotional Homage Lizzo Paid To Beyoncé

The About Damn Time singer accepted her Best Record of the Year award and said, “Beyoncé, in the 5th grade I skipped school to see you perform.” Fans talked about the incredible influence the former Destiny’s Child vocalist has had on the world of music, especially on younger artists.

Taylor’s Dance Moves

The Love Story singer said can’t stop, won’t stop moving as she danced to Harry Styles’ As It Was performance. She also showed her support for Bad Bunny and Lizzo as they set the stage on fire and she grooved to the tunes. Fans of Taylor admired her enthusiasm and constant support for fellow musicians.

Some viewers also speculated in excitement when they saw Taylor greet her ex-beau Harry.

When Viola Davis Achieved EGOT Status

Fans celebrated the multifaceted star’s historic win by listing some of her most impressive accomplishments across different mediums in the entertainment industry. They also spoke about Viola unfairly losing the opportunity to win another Oscar for her critically-praised, unnominated performance in The Woman King.

Doja Cat’s Custom Atelier Versace Look

Fashion enthusiasts were awestruck at the artist’s all-black latex ensemble and her punk-adjacent style at this year’s futurism-forward Grammy’s. Doja stunned in a custom KNWLS London dress for her second look that audiences loved despite her going home empty-handed.

Surprise! No Surprise Performance

Audiences reacted jokingly to the rumours of a surprise performance by a “favourite female artist” that turns out, didn’t happen at all. While some viewers thought that this announcement was an attempt by the Recording Academy to increase viewership, others tried to speculate who the surprise performer could have been.
