The End of An Era: Season 4 of Succession Will Be Its Last

And it’s premiering in a month…

In an interview with the New Yorker, Jesse Armstrong, the creator of the critically-acclaimed satirical drama Succession, revealed that the Roy family saga will come to an end in the show’s fourth season.

Set to premiere on March 26 this year, the final season of the show will take off from Season Three’s quietly devastating finale that featured gut-punching reunions and Machiavellian betrayals that kept fans on the edge of their seats, since it first came out in December 2021.

“It’s been a bit tortured,” the creator said to the New Yorker when he was asked what made him decide that it was the end of the road for Succession. “You know, there’s a promise in the title of “Succession.” I’ve never thought this could go on forever. The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From Season 2, I’ve been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?” he continued.

Centering around media mogul Logan Roy and his children Kendall, Siobhan (a.k.a. Shiv), Roman, and Connor, the witty comedy depicts the complex power dynamics between the characters, each of whom mirrors an individual facet of their ruthless patriarch in the Shakespearean world of Armstrong’s making.

In Season Four, the characters will pick up the pieces of season three’s explosive finale as Waystar Royco, the fictional conglomerate owned by the Roys, will change hands and in the process, bring about a shift in the power dynamics within the dysfunctional dynasty.
