Dubai Fashion Week Opens With Exclusive Carolina Herrera SS24 Presentation
Florals and feminine energy ushered in the seven-day long event
Dubai Fashion Week, co-founded by the Arab Fashion Council and the Dubai Design District (D3), has officially started with a presentation by Carolina Herrera.
The seven-day long event began yesterday evening, as Creative Director Wes Gordon presented the SS24 collection — which included new pieces created exclusively to mark the occasion.
“This collection was really inspired by 90s fashion, by the magic combination of a great pencil skirt, and white cotton shirt, and a beautiful pair of heels. I think of women like Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy,” he said. “How something so modern can be something so feminine, and I really worked to infuse the femininity and Herrera-isms into this collection, whether it’s polka dots or embellishments, or floras.”
The event was attended by notable members of the Dubai fashion community, with model Sara Sampaio making an appearance at the event.
Throughout the next few days regional designers and international brands will be showing their collections at the tents in D3.
