A new era for the Kingdom has officially begun as Riyadh Fashion Week celebrated the best of Saudi talent and style over the weekend, kicking four-days of fashion festivities at the King Abdullah Financial District.
Day One of the inaugural fashion week commenced with a homecoming: Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi unveiled his new collection in the presence of regional celebrities, industry insiders, and the global fashion community. Day Two and Three saw some of the biggest names in regional ready-to-wear and couture present their collections.

Ashi Studio Made Riyadh Fashion Week History as The First Designer To Present at The Inaugural Four-Day Event
The Saudi Arabian designer Mohammed Ashi made history as the first designer to be the opening show at the inaugural Riyadh Fashion Week. As part of the many firsts, this meaningful moment also marks the designer’s first time ever presenting one of his collections in his home country.
Adnan Akbar Wowed The Crowd With Glittering Evening Wear
Known as the first couture fashion house in Saudi Arabia, Adnan Akbar kick-started Day Two of Riyadh Fashion Week. The renowned Saudi designer unveiled his newest collection showcasing mesmerizing gowns that seamlessly faded into a colourful array of whites, yellows, greens, blues, purples, pinks, and reds. The details included chiffon, and silk, as well as encrusted peals and glistening crystals. The final look featured a white bridal gown with floral appliqués and a unique open crinoline attached to the back of the skirt.

Tima Abid Put A Regional Twist on Catwalk Glamour
The Haute Couture fashion house of Tima Abid made Saturday a night to remember. The designer reflected her Saudi Arabian heritage onto every gown giving it a unique modern aesthetic. Her latest fashion creation began by showcasing whites and creams with feather details and asymmetrical capes. Black looks with gold and silver statement pieces and splashes of bright reds took over the catwalk, circling back with an all-white gown for a grand finale.

Youssef Akbar Unveiled a Colourful Contrast of Self-Expression
Youssef Akbar unveiled his latest collection that reflected his Saudi Arabian background through a lens of self-expression. Gracing the runway was elegance and femininity, showcasing black and colourful looks paired with fun contrasting tights. Tasteful cutouts, texturised materials, and a touch of sparkle set apart the fashion house’s creations. The memorable show ended with a fully metallic mini-dress paired with black tights.

Atelier Hekayat Showcased an Emotional Show, Dedicated to The Designers’ Father
Atelier Hekayat, created by sister duo Alia and Abeer Oraif, presented a nostalgic new collection titled “I am coming home” which they dedicated to their father. The opening looks featured two models side by side in regency-inspired attire, followed by pastel gowns with over-the-top chiffon necklines and statement ruffles. Black and white edgy styles took over the second part of the collection including a red look for a colourful twist. Emerging as the closing act was a white chiffon bridal gown with a full veil.

Honayda Continued to Empower Women With Saudi-Inspired Unconventional Silhouettes
The fashion label Honayda set the standards high as the opening show for Day Three of Riyadh Fashion Week. The Saudi Arabian designer’s latest addition radiated empowerment through every look. Bazaar Arabia’s former cover star Halima Aden made a surprise appearance as she entered the catwalk sporting a luxurious blue gown. Stealing the show were asymmetrical silhouettes featuring unconventional yet elevated necklines and capes. In a unique ending, the final runway strut included model Halima Aden walking hand-in-hand with designer Honayda Serafi as silver flags were waved all the way to the end of the stage.

Kaf by Kaf Depicted Saudi Culture Through Textures
The fashion label Kaf by Kaf proudly paid homage to the Saudi Arabian culture and history through bold and creative designs. Every look featured on the runway was unique and single-handedly showcased a piece of the region. Materials like crochet and raffia, as well as lively patterns, told a story full of rich Saudi Arabian heritage.
